There’s a drawer in my dresser filled with all kinds of things
Wallets and trinkets and old diamond rings
There’s a jar full of teeth of all shapes and all sizes
Molars bicuspids canines incisors

Don’t know where they came from don’t know how they got here
Seems somebody’s keeping them as souvenirs
There’s a bunch of old baggies with small locks of hair
I wonder who cut them and who put them there

Sometimes in the morning my gas tank is low
I could swear that I filled it so where did it go?
There’s mud on the tires and stains on the seat
And a brand new air freshener smelling so sweet

There’s a halloween mask stitched together by hand
Made of some kind of leather been cured limed and tanned
It don’t smell so good and it’s old and it’s gray
For some reason I can’t bear to throw it away

There’s old maps of places I never have gone
With circles and crosses and dates written on
I wonder who’s leaving these things in my drawer
I wonder what they’re keeping souvenirs for

There’s a pile of Polaroid pictures in there
Of folks who look sleepy or startled or scared
Don’t know who they are never met I suppose
Still there’s something familiar about the way they are posed

The rings still hold fingers tight in their grip
And there’s even a few stuck in shriveled old lips
In this drawer that somebody’s been filling for years
Filling this drawer up with strange souvenirs
